Full Guide to Stitching a Majestic Tiger with Beads

by Sasha Ridley

With each bead, the tiger seems to step out of the fabric, its stripes shimmering, its gaze alive.

The golden beads glow like sunlight on fur, while the black beads define its power. It’s as if you’ve captured the spirit of the wild in a handful of glass.

Once finished, this embroidery doesn’t just decorate a frame; it feels like a guardian watching over the room, carrying the silent strength of nature.

Materials Needed

  • Seed beads in gold, black, white, and pink (5-10 grams each)
  • Beading needle and strong thread (nylon or FireLine)
  • Linen or cotton fabric (6”×6” or larger)
  • Embroidery hoop
  • Scissors
  • Small frame for display

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Stretch your fabric into the embroidery hoop and sketch a simple tiger outline. You should keep the shape bold and clear so the stripes can be added easily.

Step 2: Outline the body using black beads, stitching them closely to mark the tiger’s form. This helps keep the shape defined as you fill it in.

Step 3: Fill the body with alternating rows of gold and black beads, following the direction of the tiger’s body to mimic fur. Also, use white beads for the underbelly and paws.

Step 4: Add facial details with black beads for the eyes, white for highlights, and pink for the nose and mouth. Keep the stitches tight so features stay sharp.

Step 5: Once the embroidery is complete, remove it from the hoop, trim excess fabric, and mount it neatly in a frame for display.

Notes:

Using metallic gold beads instead of matte gives the tiger an extra shine, making the stripes stand out even more under light.
