These brooches feel like tiny ornaments you can carry with you.
The stocking sparkles as if it’s waiting to be filled, the candy cane twinkles with sweetness, and the trees shimmer like a snowy forest under starlight.
Each bead becomes a note in a carol, stitching together memories of warm lights, laughter, and holiday gatherings. Pinning them to your coat feels like wearing a little piece of Christmas joy wherever you go.
Materials Needed
- Seed beads in red, green, white, and gold (10-12 grams each)
- 20 pearls and rhinestones for accents
- Beading needle and strong nylon thread
- Felt backing fabric (3”×3” per design)
- Embroidery hoop (optional)
- Brooch pin backs
- Scissors and fabric glue
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Cut small felt pieces for each shape and sketch your chosen holiday design like a tree, stocking, or candy cane.
Step 2: Outline the design with seed beads, stitching them closely to create a neat border. Then begin filling the shape with rows of beads in festive colors.
Step 3: Add pearls or rhinestones as accents, for example, a pearl trim on a hat or sparkling ornaments on a tree. This gives your brooch dimension and shine.
Step 4: Cut carefully around the finished design, leaving a small border. Also, attach another felt piece to the back to hide stitches and make it sturdy.
Step 5: Sew or glue a brooch pin onto the back. Once secure, your Christmas brooch is ready to wear or gift.
Notes:
You can scale the designs down to make smaller pins or upsize them for statement pieces.
Mixing matte and shiny beads also adds depth and makes your brooches sparkle more under holiday lights.
